description
The Intensive care Nephrology and Transplantation department is dedicated to the treatment of acute kidney injury, acute complications of patients with chronic kidney diseases, and renal transplantation. It works in close collaboration with the Nephrology and Dialysis department and the Urology department. Various methods of extracorporeal therapies are used in this department: hemodialysis, hemodiafiltration, plasma exchanges, immunoadsorption. It is a reference center for these methods, especially in patients with thrombotic microangiopathies, vasculitis, and humoral rejection after solid organ transplantations (kidney, heart, liver). The main clinical studies deal with acute kidney injury (epidemiology and prognosis), thrombotic microangiopathies (plasma exchanges, and eculizumab), and renal transplantation (therapeutic trials, and non invasive biomarkers of renal graft rejection or fibrosis).
